Which Printable Game Fits Your Break Room?
Your team has one break room, three job titles and half the time you hoped for. Answer six questions about your real constraints (time, caller, cutting, printer) and get one of three printable games: picture bingo, healthcare trivia or nurse emoji clues.
Find the game your setup can handle
Answer six hosting questions, or compare all three games below. The result is a starting point; check the supplies before you choose.
Compare the games
Nursing picture bingo
You have room for a shared round and someone who can keep calling. Nursing picture bingo gives you 50 player cards and 36 calling cards, without a clinical quiz. Prep the calling set before the shift and sort removable markers for each player. Leave the scissors out of the party.
Healthcare worker trivia
Your group crosses job titles, and a question sheet fits the room. This 20-question multiple-choice game covers many healthcare roles; the listing suggests 10–15 minutes. Print the player pages and keep the complete answer key with the host. Let table groups compare answers when everyone is ready.
Nurse emoji game
Your nursing team has a short gap and somewhere to jot down guesses. This game has 20 nurse-themed emoji clues, with a suggested 5–8 minute timer. Print the clue sheets, put out pencils and keep the answer key aside. The bonus two-per-page layout helps when paper is tight.
Check the result against your room
A picker can't see the lunch queue or hear the kettle, so sanity-check the result against your real room before you print. Can your group do the activity together, at the same table, at the same time? Bingo needs someone who can call and show the pictures. A quiet room with tables may suit written sheets better. If colleagues have to leave, let them go without turning their score into a big announcement. And if bingo wins but you're the only person free to call, pick trivia instead and spare yourself a long afternoon.
The healthcare trivia is written for multiple roles. The other two games have a nursing theme, so think about who is coming before choosing them for a hospital-wide event.
Put the host materials aside first
Bingo has 50 player cards and a 36-card calling set. Cut the calling cards before people arrive and provide removable markers. The four file formats contain the same boards; they don't give you 200 different designs.
Healthcare worker trivia has 20 multiple-choice questions and a complete answer key. Its listing suggests 10–15 minutes. Nurse emoji has 20 clues and suggests 5–8 minutes. Give guests pencils for written guesses and save the answer reveal until they're ready.
Tip: do the cutting the day before. Bingo calling cards take longer than anyone expects, and a half-cut deck at 2:10 is how a good game starts late. Trivia and emoji need no scissors at all, only a stapler if you want the pages joined.
Heads-up: don't hand out the answer key with the player pages. It happens at least once at every quiz lunch, and it ends the game in about a minute.
No printer today?
Use the free shift-break this-or-that prompts instead. Read a few choices aloud and let people pass. Save your selected printable for a day when you can prepare it properly. There's no prize for fighting a jammed printer during lunch.
